The Maharashtra Tourism Development Cooperation has taken to organising the Kalidas Festival, which aims at celebrating the cultural heydays of the Vidarbha region, and also where the legendary poet penned some of his works. My personal favourite from Kalidas is Meghdoot.

In many ways, Kalidas is about the monsoons, and the unique place that they have in Indian culture. The ad campaign for the 2006 festival, run by Mudra Communications, did an awesome job of bringing out the vividness of the rains, and also tied in so well with the idea of Kalidas...
